Theywill be an advocate for clients and link them to community services as needed.       The RSS will be SOAR trained andassist in navigating the system of gathering relevant dataand working with clients to obtain benefitswhile building a therapeutic relationship and remaining on top of deadlines.   They will provide assertive outreach, obtain client’s medical records, manage communication with the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Determination Services (DDS), provide a detailed narrative, and obtain a co-signature from medical providers.  They will provide client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed services to clients with severe mental illnesses and co-occurring substance abuse/addiction disorders utilizing a harm reduction approach.        The RSS must complete online training for SOAR and successfully receive their SOAR certification within 90 days of hire and will provide at least 60-75% of all community support services in the community.  They will complete case management tasks with clients within a shared caseload.  The RSS will also provide crisis/on-call coverage as directed.

Available to all community members free of charge, the FACT team engages with a wide population of individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, psychosis, housing instability, severe anxiety, and other time sensitive needs. FACT Crisis Counselors support with the creation of safety plans, connection to community resources, and in the moment crisis counselling.   The Senior Crisis Counselor responds to mental health crises in the community as part of a team and provide de-escalation, assessment, safety planning, and community resources.  They will provide strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed services to people with severe mental illnesses and co-occurring substance abuse utilizing a harm reduction approach.   The Senior Crisis Counselor is a member of the FACT leadership team along with the Team Leaders, Program Manager, and Clinical Director. While the Senior Crisis Counselor does not supervise staff members, they write the crisis line phone schedule, write the daily appointment schedule, assign tasks to staff, and answer questions from staff throughout the day. The Senior Crisis Counselor is responsible for managing dispatch and workflow of tasks, based on clinical urgency and staffing. The Senior Crisis Counselor will compile data for monthly reports, and will assist with onboarding new employees.   This role works three 12-hour in person shifts during the week, and 4 hours remotely each week. The in-person shifts are 6:30am-7pm pm Monday, Tuesday, alternating Wednesdays, alternating Saturdays. This position is required to work some holidays. There is no on-call responsibility for this position.
