The internship is non paid and  utilizes a developmental learning approach to provide interns with knowledge and skills in evidence-based practices for supporting individuals undergoing
treatment and recovery from substance use and mental health disorders. Initially, interns will have limited responsibilities and will receive close supervision, mentoring, and intensive instruction. As they progress, they
will gradually gain autonomy while still receiving ongoing supervision and consultation. This internship position can offer up to 300 hours with no more then 20 hours per week. This position offeres weekly hour logs to be signed off by intern and supervisor, individualized internsip plan and required supervision and preformace evaluations.

Responsibilities

The role ofthe Peer Recovery Support Specialist generally includes:
• Engaging clients in treatment through motivational interviewing and motivational enhancement
techniques
• Working with clients to develop a Recovery Plan that addresses their comprehensive needs.
• Using client-centered and self-directed approachesto recovery planning
• Meeting with clients at least once a week to ensure implementation ofthe Wellness Plan
• Assisting clients in accessing otherservices, both on and offsite, to meet their additional needs.
• Linking clients to recovery support services delivered in a manner consist with ROSC.
• Collaborating with clients to engage family members in recovery planning.
• Monitoring client progress
• Managing, tracking, and updating individual wellness portfolios
• Ensuring sustained recovery post-treatment
• Having strong documentation skills

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an Peer Recovery Support Specialist -CRSS/CPRS program seeking internship opportunities. Currently qulaified to enter into intersnship opportunity with school agreement and has completed required courses that will deem all time spent in this opportunity valid.
