Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare Inc. is hiring a part-time (24 hours per week) Psychiatrist at its Main location on Greenleaf Avenue.

Typical services provided include case management, counseling/therapy, individual skills training, medication training, crisis intervention, linkage to community resources, advocacy, assessment, and treatment planning.


Job Summary: The part time (24 hours per week) Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for all medical and psychiatric matters at Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare Inc. He/she will report to and work closely with the Chief Executive Officer. The CMO will partner with senior leadership and the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies across the organization. He/she must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the teams in assessment, treatment planning, general healthcare, and medical and psychosocial approaches
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Primary Care Physicians, and other Integrated Health Clinic employees in assessment, treatment planning, general healthcare, medical and psychosocial approaches, and review of client's progress and treatment
  • Provide consultation and training to other team members regarding the client's medical and psychiatric care, including pharmacologic management needs
  • Work with consumers and staff in the development  and implementation of person-centered individual treatment plans which address psychiatric issues
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, which includes MSE, psychiatric history, and establish DSM IV diagnoses
  • Regularly assess consumers and prescribe psychotropic medications for all assigned clients via office and home visits. Educate consumers and their families regarding medications, symptoms, illness, and side effects.
  • Provide on-site crisis assessment and management; collaborate with acute and long-term inpatient providers
  • Collaborate with other service providers as necessary (i.e., inpatient psychiatrists, and primary care physicians)
  • Analyze and evaluate client data and test findings to diagnose nature and extent of mental disorder.
  • Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, recovery counselors, nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress
  • Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from clients, relatives, and other professionals.
  • Examine laboratory or diagnostic tests on client to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorder.
  • Advise and inform guardians, relatives, and significant others of clients' conditions and treatment.
  • Review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of other psychiatrists and medical professionals.
  • Serve on committees to promote and maintain community mental health services and delivery systems within the organization
  • May represent the organization on various committees outside of the organization
  • Accurately complete all required documentation in regards to client care including assessments, evaluations, medication entries, e-prescribing and progress notes.
  • Assist the team in meeting Meaningful Use objectives
  • Counsel clients during office visits
  • Create and facilitate presentations within and outside the organization
  • Perform other related duties and/or projects as assigned.



  • Doctor of Medicine Degree from an accredited medical college
  • Board Certification or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Unrestricted license as a Psychiatrist in the State of Illinois.
  • Experience working with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Ability to accomplish tasks independently and work on team projects cooperatively
  • Ability to use independent judgment to establish goals, set priorities, and work effectively with all staff
  • Supervisory experience highly preferred
  • Exceptional writing skills; and outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Experience with computer software and database applications
